How to Count Your Employees for FSVP Compliance: FDA Issues Draft Guidance

Mar 19, 2018 | FDA, Food, Law & Regulatory

Today, March 19, 2018, is when Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) regulations apply to all imported food shipments from foreign suppliers having less than 500 Full Time Equivalent employees (FTEs) except for food that is imported from a foreign supplier that is a “Very Small Business” (defined in terms of sales dollars).

And today, FDA issued a new draft guidance to help industry calculate the number of FTEs per a supplier. The guidance provides several examples so suppliers with multiple facilities, subsidiaries or affiliates can better understand how to make the determination.
