As a result, there are longer wait times for passenger and cargo at ports of entry along the southern border. There are reports of lines of trucks several miles long and waits stretching for hours. Besides wait times at the ports, this redeployment of Customs officers is resulting in cargo exams taking longer.
Seaports, rail and airports are unaffected at this time. Clearance by Partner Government Agencies (PGAs), such as FDA, should not be impacted either.
