Bi-Annual Food Facility Registration Renewals

Aug 6, 2026 | FDA, Food, Registration

Between October 1 and December 31 this year, all FDA-registered facilities must renew their registrations.

Food facilities are not charged a fee by FDA at renewal. However, FDA does require that any facility involved in the manufacturing, processing, packaging, or importing of a food register and renew their registrations every even-numbered year. We recommend you use renewal time as an opportunity to review your registration information and ensure it’s all up-to-date.

Foreign manufacturers must identify a U.S. Agent, who must either reside in or maintain a place of business in the U.S. This person must be listed during the registration process. U.S. agent responsibilities include assisting FDA in communications with the foreign facility, scheduling FDA inspections, and responding to questions concerning the foreign facility’s products that are imported or offered for import into the United States.
