Since the passage of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act of 2009 (TCA), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been granted the authority to require tobacco manufacturers, packagers, importers and distributors to register their facilities with FDA. These registration requirements are being implemented now in the U.S. through FDA guidance. Currently,, LLC assists domestic and foreign tobacco and tobacco products companies with the registration and the Ingredient Report Listing requirements.

The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (BATF) also requires importers, wholesalers, storage facilities, and distributors to obtain federal permits to conduct business in the U.S. as tobacco or tobacco products businesses.
